Biography

Bihe Wen was born in China in 1991. His works include instrumental, electroacoustic music, and collaboration work of multimedia installation.

 

His compositions have received several distinctions and prizes in international competitions, including Musicacoustica-Beijing competition (2011, 2017), Monaco International Electroacoustic Composition Competition (2014), XXVIII Luigi Russolo Contest, Leibniz’s Harmonies Prize (2016), MÉTAMORPHOSES 2016 Acousmatic Competition, and XII° Destellos Competition 2019 among others.

 

His works have been performed at concerts and festivals in MUSICACOUSTICA- BEIJING, Shanghai Electronic Music Week 2015, L’Espace du Son (2012, 2016), ElectroAcousticProject (Vienna), SMC Conference 2013, Monaco Electroacoustique 2015, ICMC 2015, Swiss Contemporary Music Festival Forum Wallis 2016, 2016 Matera Intermedia Festival, ISCM World New Music Days 2018, Projected Sounds – BeFEM Concerts (Brussels), and 41 Foro Internacional de Música Nueva "Manuel Enríquez" 2019 (Mexico City), etc.

 

He studied with Professor Xiaofu Zhang and Professor Peng Guan at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing, and he obtained his master’s degree from the University of North Texas where he studied under Professor Panayiotis Kokoras. He is currently pursuing a PhD at the Sonic Arts Research Centre of Queen’s University Belfast in the UK.
